5 Books that will change change you or leave you the same. Who am I to decide?!

If you surf the internet you will find thousand of articles with the title : " 5 Books that will change your life, perception, and who knows what else.
No, this is not that type of article.

I wanted to suggest a few books that were an addition to my knowledge and helped me expand the information I had regarding some of the topics this books cover.

1) Love in the time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The first time you will hold this book it won't sound appealing at all. The writer is Spanish, with a wide vocabulary and you will definitely get lost in the first pages of this book.
The same happened to me.
It took me a day or two to get a better understanding of the book, and also I took my time reading it.
I usually read fast, and I read this book very slow.
It is an interesting love story, with a lot of characters, a lot of chronology that at the end gave me one simple meaning.
If you really love someone/something, never give up on that. Determination will make things happen.

2) To kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee
The title definitely gets you, and no, it is not about killing an actual bird. I had heard so much about this book, being one of the classics I had to read it before I die, like most articles say.
The book has a lot of character and still is a clear example of what the world is like even today.
Racism is not over yet.

3) Bel- Ami by Guy de Maupassant
This is my favorite writer ever. I can always go back to all his short stories and never get tired of it.
As the writer itself, the book is surprising and kind of crazy. Tale as old as time.
The greedy people will never stop being greedy. It is the disease that was born long and gets carried thru the centuries.

4) The secret journal by Alexander Pushkin
The first time I heard about this book, was thru a friend of my cousin. She was telling us a story that a girl of loose morals, that used to have the same classes as her, was so focused one day on her book, that it came as a surprise to the whole class. Quick sneak peak, she was hiding another book with the schools book. The book was orange, and it was prohibited at the time in Albania.
I had to read it. It is twisted, and also appealing. Gives you quite of information regarding the sexual life of the Russians in the 18th century.
So, to all that say that time has changed, and the younger generation is much more twisted and more open minded. Give that book a try. It will prove you wrong.

5) When Nietzche Wept by Irvin D Yalom
I spend most of my high school years trying to self educate myself in psychology since my school did not have a class for it. I fell in love with how Zidgmund Freyd gave meaning to all my unanswered questions. It was quite hard to read books that even today I do not understand them 100%. But it definitely helped. This book shows the origin of psychoanalysis, and I felt like I was a silent character of the book. It fascinated me, but latter I got disappointed by finding out, it was all a fiction history.
